The Finance Team as a whole works together to ensure that the funds entrusted to Calvary Bible Church are handled in a way that is above reproach.  Certain decisions or recommendations are made as a team to help advise the staff and elders concerning financial matters and to provide a level of healthy accountability in financial matters.

FINANCE SECRETARY
Individually the Finance Secretary serves the body of Christ by overseeing the handling and allotment of incoming funds.

TREASURER
Individually the Treasurer serves the body of Christ by managing the budget and overseeing the expenditures.

BENEVOLENCE COORDINATOR
Calvary Bible has a Benevolence Fund that exists to assist members or regular attenders of Calvary Bible Church with unexpected short-term financial needs that cannot otherwise be met. The Benevolence Coordinator receives requests, and depending on the amount requested, either approves those requests, or brings them to the Finance Team as a whole, or together with the team recommends an action to the elders for approval.

"Bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the Law of Christ." (Galatians 6:2).

WAYS TO SERVE

The three positions mentioned above are required by our constitution and are elected offices, thus to serve in one of these roles you must be nominated and approved by the congregation. Below, however, are other ways you can serve in this area of ministry:

  • Giving in general, but especially giving toward the Benevolence Fund

  •  Serve on the Counting Team, which is a rotation of members that assist the Financial Secretary by providing accountability while counting the incoming funds each Sunday. The Counting Team meets immediately following the second service and it usually takes about 20 minutes to complete. The goal is to have enough volunteers that team members only serve once every two months.

  •  Bookkeeping and data entry
